For long-term trips, or if you do not meet the conditions for obtaining an AVE, you need to opt for a TRV (Temporary Resident Visa), which allows you to stay in Canada for 6 months. There are two types of visa:

As its name suggests, it allows entry only once during the period of validity of the visa.

If you want to visit Canada several times, this is the visa for you: it allows you to enter as many times as you like during the period of validity of the visa (10 years).

The permanent resident visa is subject to stricter conditions and offers the same rights as a Canadian citizen (except the right to vote).

Foreign nationals who are required to obtain a visa must obtain a transit visa if they are passing through Canada (without necessarily stopping over), even if their stay is less than 48 hours.

This visa is free of charge, with a few exceptions if certain criteria are met (such as travel to the USA).

The WHP Canada is in vogue because it offers a certain flexibility to its holders, in particular :

> Possibility of working in Canada without a company contract

> No time limit for working for the same employer

> Possibility of visiting Canada for the duration of your stay, without working

It is available to nationals of 32 countries (including France and Belgium).
