The AVE is obviously the most popular type of travel document for nationalities eligible for visa exemption.. Here is also a list of other possible visas for visiting Canada :
- Temporary resident visa
For long-term trips, or if you do not meet the conditions for obtaining an AVE, you need to opt for a TRV (Temporary Resident Visa), which allows you to stay in Canada for 6 months. There are two types of visa:- Single-entry visas
As its name suggests, it allows entry only once during the period of validity of the visa. - Multiple-entry visas
If you want to visit Canada several times, this is the visa for you: it allows you to enter as many times as you like during the period of validity of the visa (10 years).
- Single-entry visas
- Permanent resident visa
The permanent resident visa is subject to stricter conditions and offers the same rights as a Canadian citizen (except the right to vote). - Transit visa
Foreign nationals who are required to obtain a visa must obtain a transit visa if they are passing through Canada (without necessarily stopping over), even if their stay is less than 48 hours.
This visa is free of charge, with a few exceptions if certain criteria are met (such as travel to the USA). - PVT - Working Holiday Programme
The WHP Canada is in vogue because it offers a certain flexibility to its holders, in particular :
> Possibility of working in Canada without a company contract
> No time limit for working for the same employer
> Possibility of visiting Canada for the duration of your stay, without working
It is available to nationals of 32 countries (including France and Belgium).
