What is the AVE?

Application process

Special cases

Permanent residents of the United States

Since 26 April 2022, lawful permanent residents of the United States have been exempt from the requirement to obtain an EVA to enter Canada by air.

Canadian citizens and permanent residents

Canadian citizens, including those with dual nationality, do not need an EVA but must use their Canadian passport. Permanent residents of Canada must present their Permanent Resident Card or Permanent Resident Travel Document.
