A Canada EV allows you to stay for up to 180 days during the 5-year validity period, or until the expiry date of the passport used to apply for the permit.. Bear in mind that you can travel as much as you like in Canada during the 5-year period, without this revealing a desire to live in the country permanently.
Also, be aware that travelling to the USA and back to Canada does not reset the 180 days of your stay.
